Winsford United 0-2 West

Monday 29th August 2022, NWCFL Premier Division

Winsford United 0
West 2 (Elliott 19, Gabidon 66)
Att: 254

West secured a first three points on the road this season with victory at Winsford United.

Chris Rowley’s two leading scorers so far this campaign again did the damage, with Ben Elliott opening the scoring in the first half before Dontai Gabidon added a second after the break.

Elliott plundered his sixth goal of the season shortly before the 20-minute mark, latching onto Matthew Cook’s through ball and finshing beyond Winsford keeper Adam Reid.

Andrew Jones was almost completely untroubled in the West goal, with the home side offering precious little threat. And Gabidon ensured the points would be heading back north shortly after his introduction as a substitute, seizing on a loose ball and rolling the ball past the onrushing Reid.
