West return to league action on Saturday as they make their second of potentially four visits to the Barton Stadium where they will face Winsford United, 3pm KO.
West are riding high on the back of five straight wins which has seen them collect nine points in the league, advance in the FA Vase and Lancashire whilst scoring 18 goals in the process.
Whilst Tuesday night’s victory at home to first division Nelson was hard fought it demonstrated the great strength in the squad at Steve Settle’s disposal with teenager Jimmy Woodward particularly impressing.
Winsford head into the game riding high in fourth having collected 10 points from a possible 15 at home and will be buoyant on the back of a 6-1 thrashing of Burscough on Tuesday night inspired by a Callum Gardner hat-trick.
As usual live updates will be produced by the clubs matchday media team on Twitter from 2pm which can be followed @WD_CFC
For those not travelling to Winsford the clubhouse will be open as the Reserves take on Halebank in Cheshire League action. Kick-off is 3pm and admission is FREE.
On Sunday, FA Cup heroes West Women are in cup action AGAIN as they welcome Flixton Ladies to Brookburn Road as they look to take their first steps in gaining their hands on the Manchester Women’s Challenge Cup.
Paul Caddick’s side have won five in a row competitively seeing off two opponents from a division above to reach the first round proper of the FA Cup. Flixton Ladies currently sit mid-table in the second division of the GMWFL having collected six points from their opening four matches.
As always the bar is open, admission is FREE and everyone is welcome to come down and cheer on the cup heroes. Kick off is 2pm
