Manchester Stingers are one of the region’s biggest stand-alone women’s teams having been formed in 1999 competing in the NWWRFL in which they were promoted to the Premier Division in 2015 and wining the Manchester FA County Cup in 2016. They play their home games at Whalley Range FC.
Last season they finished in 9th place and reached the semi-finals of the Manchester County Cup losing to City of Manchester on penalties. Stingers had been managed by Trafford FC full back Ally Brown until the summer when he was replaced by new coach Elliot Sutcliffe. Stingers enjoyed a win in their first pre-season fixture of the summer on Sunday when they defeated GMWFL Champions Urmston Meadowside 4-3.
Kick off is 6:30pm at Brookburn Road, admission is free, the bar is open and everyone is welcome.
