West’s Women’s First and Reserve teams are delighted to reveal their new kit and front of shirt sponsor ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Didsbury Blues will sponsor the front of the shirt for both teams, following a long-time friendship and partnership with the club. Eckersley’s Plumbers & Locksmiths logo will feature on the back of the playing shirt. Similar to the men’s shirt and as part of the club’s partnership with The Christie, the logo of The Christie Charitable Fund will feature on the sleeve, with the club donating £1 from every replica shirt sold in the club shop to the charity.
The club is also delighted to announce that the logo of Chorlton-based Barakah Food Aid will appear on the playing shorts.
For the first time at West, the senior women’s setup will feature a ‘whole’ kit and each player will have a dedicated squad number across both sides. It’s hoped that this will create a unique identity to the set-up for players as the club moves forward with its ambitious plans for its women’s teams.
Following the success and popularity of the men’s kit launch at the start of the 2020/21 season, it was agreed by all at the club that our women’s sides should wear the same exclusive design from SK Kits.
Commenting on the launch, Women’s First Team manager Nathan Soulby said: “The new home kit is yet another indicator of West’s clubs aligning to the same philosophy and levels of professionalism, and as with everything we do we want to push those levels as far as they will possibly go.
“It was a key target for myself and the coaching staff coming in a year ago to create that continuity, progression and togetherness for all of our players across two senior teams – so to give the players their own identity within the club in this manner is really pleasing.”
Nathan added: “I’d like to thank our sponsors Didsbury Blues and Eckersley’s Plumbing & Locksmiths for their support, and we are immensely proud to support The Christie and Barakah Food Aid both on and off the pitch.”
