RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE
by Matthew Durrant · 30/04/2018
Following the club’s previous statement on the postponement of last Tuesday’s game against Charnock Richard, we are now in a position to confirm details of our forthcoming home fixture against City of Liverpool, scheduled to take place Tuesday 1st May. Thanks to our friends at Atherton Collieries, the game will now take place on the same date at Kensite Stadium, Alder St, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9EY.
With the threat of a protest still present, and with no availability to play the game at Brookburn Road without the use of floodlights, the only choice left was to relocate the fixture. While other grounds were considered, the Kensite Stadium was the only one that proved to be both viable financially for the club and a commutable distance for our support. The club will be offering a minibus from Chorlton for the game (reserve your spot below – £10 return), while the ground is also easy to get to on public transport, being a 10-minute walk from Atherton train stop.
The club would once again like to thank all West fans for their ongoing support and understanding – and we hope to welcome you to the Kensite Stadium this Tuesday for what should be a thrilling game of football.
