For the second year running West Didsbury & Chorlton will host the Manchester FA Women’s County Cup final. The final will take place under the lights on Friday 13th April the two of the region’s best women’s teams expected to be involved.
Last season West hosted the final for the first time ever as a crowd of 205 saw FC United win the competition for the first time as they defeated City of Manchester FC 5-1.
The quarter finals take place this weekend and see’s FC United well placed to reacht the final again as they head to GMWFL side Beechfield United on Sunday. Last season’s Semi-Finalsts and local Chorlton side Manchester Stingers have already reached the semi-finals as they were awarded a walk over against Cadishead Rhinos. Curzon Ashton are also in action as they host Barhill at home.
Most excitingly, West have entered a women’s team for the first time ever and began the competition with an emphatic 10-1 win over Flixton in the second round. This weekend they will host GMWFL Champions Urmston Meadowside as they look to reach the semi-finals at the first attempt.
The game is to be played at Brookburn Road, kick off is 2pm and admission is FREE.
