After a good start to the Bank Holiday weekend with 3 points in Congleton, West finished off the 3 day break with a spectacular performance at home to Runcorn Linnets.
In what was anticipated to be an evenly weighted game, West showed a cutting edge – as well as taking advantage of a Linnets red card – to win 4-0 on Bank Holiday Monday.
Two first half goals from Beef – the first played through, before chipping the keeeper; the second a well read tap in after the keeper spilt the ball – and one from Evangelinos – swept in feom te second ball at a corner – gave West a 3-0 half time lead. West also went in 1 man up following a Linnets red card.
In the second half, West perhaps could’ve had more – but Henderson will have been happy to close off his hattrick following a few good chances to earn it at the end of the first half. Muscling the Linnets defender, Saul had a chance to square but chose to shoot – and it paid off, as he scored his third of the game.
From there, the win was little in doubt – and West move to top of the league, albeit temporarily, following the win
