by Matthew Durrant · 19/05/2019
The FA have today released the league allocations for clubs at steps 5 and 6 – confirming that West will spend the 2019/20 season in the North West Counties Football League Division One South.
Joining West will be Abbey Hey, who also suffered relegation from the Premier Division last season.
Over the course of the campaign, West will face regular local derby games, including the South Manchester Derby against Maine Road, two trips to Wythenshawe for games against Amateurs and Town, visits to Cheadle to face Heath Nomads and Town, as well as matches against Stockport Town, New Mills, and the aforementioned Abbey Hey.
We will also be reacquainted with Eccleshall and Oswestry Town, against whom the club had memorable away days in the cup last season – we look forward to renewing our friendship with both sides.
Fixtures will be released within the coming weeks.
