West can confirm the capture of former Winsford United defender Sam Parr.
Parr, 22, has joined the club from Manchester League side Dukinfield Town and was an unused substitute in last Saturday’s FA Vase win away to AFC Blackpool.
Parr, made 31 appearances for Winsford last season scoring 4 goals as he helped steer them to a 13th place finish. Since joining Winsford mid-way through 2015/16 he made 48 appearances in total. Prior to that Parr had played for Mossley and Stalybridge Celtic.
Manager Steve Settle spoke of the news; “Sam’s someone we have admired for some time, we first saw him playing for Winsford United. He’s left footed so he can play either left back or left hand side of centre half. He’s a player with terrific pace with is something we’ve been looking to add and a player who adds strength and depth to our defensive line. We’re delighted he’s joined the club.”
Parr was signed in time to be an unused substitute in last weekends FA Vase victory and will be part of the match day squad when West entertain top-of-the-table Runcorn Town at Brookburn Road this Saturday, 3pm KO.
