RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE
by Gray Ellwood · 25/11/2021
Following consultation with West supporters and the NWCFL, the game against FC Isle of Man has been moved back to Saturday 26th February 2022 with a 6:30pm Kick-Off. This means that our away fixture at Barnton has been moved back to Saturday 8th January 2022, having been initally switched with our trip to Douglas.
For any supporters still wishing to book tickets, travel or accomodation, details are below.
Information from FC Isle of Man:
“For any supporters still wishing to book their travel, we recommend you email edward.pearson@travelcounsellors.com and asking for “Lou”. Packages can include a match ticket, travel (via Boat or Plane) and accommodation on-Island.
“The kick off will be at 18.30. Evening Kick-offs are part of our agreement with the IOMFA and the NWCFL and are arranged at that time to minimize the impact on our local club games. We are expecting a large crowd and with playing under floodlights it should be an excellent atmosphere.
“The Isle of Man is a self-governing crown dependency. This means we ARE part of the British Isles put NOT part of the UK. We have our own Government and therefore our own laws, some of which are slightly different, and we are proud of the fact our parliament (Tynwald) is the oldest in the world with an unbroken existence. It is worth being aware that we do have our own currency which is effectively the same as the British Pound. We do therefore accept the British Pound in its various forms on Island however please note that Manx notes and coins ARE NOT accepted when you return to England.
We hope that everyone thoroughly enjoys your trip to the Island and fixture against us. It is equally important that your trip to the Island is seen as a positive by our local community and we trust you will ensure all those connected with your club will do their absolute best to create a wonderful atmosphere and build positive connections with the people you meet during your trip.”
