Steve Settle continued to the strengthening of his squad ahead of the new season after defenders Nia Bayunu and Richmond Botchey as well as forward Jonny Poizer all signed on the dotted line for the season ahead.
Bayunu, 27, joined mid-way through last season having joined from Ramsbottom United making 17 appearances for West as well as scoring 3 times. The giant centre half added to his total for West on Saturday heading in West’s second against Atherton Collieries.
Botchey, 25, joins for his fifth season with West having originally joined from Oldham Boro in July 2013. The versatile wide man whose played for West at full back, wing back and on the wing can play on both sides and has accrued 100 appearances for the club scoring once; a 25 yard curled effort away to Colne in 2013. Botchey made 37 appearances for West last season.
Poizer, 22, initially joined the club back in 2013 from FC United and returned to the club in 2015 after a brief spell with Northwich Flixton Villa in which he scored 11 times in 29 appearances for the NWCFL First Division side. The powerful forward has made 75 appearances for West scoring 11 goals of which 40 were made last season scoring seven times.
All three will be at Steve Settle’s disposal this weekend when West head to the Stockport Sports Village where they take on Stockport Town, 3pm KO. Admission is £5 for adults and £2 concessions.
