RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE
by West Didsbury & Chorlton · 12/12/2019
The club reluctantly accepted the resignation of co-Chair Rob McKay last week, with outside commitments meaning he was unable to continue in the role.
As anyone involved in West will know, Rob has been an enormous part of the club’s ongoing success off the field, and his appointment alongside Steve Eckersley in the summer was the culmination of many years work behind the scenes, spending countless hours and fulfilling numerous roles at Brookburn Road and beyond.
Rob will be staying on as a committee member, and will continue to be a staple at Brookburn Road both as a volunteer and in the stands as a supporter.
Rob McKay said: “It’s with regret that I’ve tendered my resignation as co-chairman of West Didsbury & Chorlton.
“Being a successful chairman is a full-time commitment; having a full-time job as well as a part-time job and there aren’t simply enough hours in the day for me to do the role justice.
“I want to thank all the volunteers for their hard work and commitment over the last five months.”
News on the new structure of the committee will be announced next week, with appointments already in place to ensure the smooth running of the club.
