West will look to continue their quest for league points as Sandbach United visit Brookburn Road.
Wednesday night’s trip to Stone Old Alleynians was postponed due to coronavirus issues at the Old Boys, meaning West are already playing catch-up in terms of games played – New Mills are the only other side to have played just one league game so far, though Eccleshall and Isle of Man are both yet to begin their campaigns at all.
Sandbach were the only team that West didn’t face at least once in the league last season, although the Ramblers did knock Chris Rowley’s side out of the Playermatch.com Cup in February. That was another step on their way to successfully defending the trophy they won in 2018/19 – the 2019/20 edition of the competition resumed in September, with Sandbach completing an aggregate win over Wythenshawe Town before beating AFC Liverpool on penalties in the final.
Andrew Hockenhull’s team have also enjoyed a promising start to the league season, despite narrowly losing at Vauxhall Motors in midweek. They racked up nine goals in their opening two matches, beating Cheadle Heath Nomads 4-2 away before hammering St Martins 5-1 in Cheshire.
