West begin March with a trip to Squires Gate, hunting for three more NWCFL Premier Division points.

Tuesday’s comeback win at home to Kendal Town set West back on the winning trail, and another three points on the Fylde coast would build momentum nicely as the FA Vase Sixth Round tie against Ascot United appears on the horizon.
A top-six league finish is still in reach, too, with West trailing 6th-placed Prestwich Heys by seven points with two games in hand.
It’s not long ago that West seemed to play Squires Gate every other week, but Saturday’s fixture will be our first visit to The Brian Addison Stadium since an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round win in August 2019 – a tie that was a third Cup meeting with Gate in four seasons.
In the present day, Luke Evans’ side look to have done enough to secure a 22nd consecutive Premier Division season for Gate – three wins in their last five league games have moved them up to 14th, 13 points clear of the relegation zone.
The points were shared in this season’s reverse fixture – Curtis Miller opened the scoring for West on a November afternoon at Brookburn Road, but Ryan Riley hit back for Gate.
