Following Tuesday’s brilliant victory, West are back on the road as they visit an in-form Pilkington side in the first round of this season’s Macron Cup.
 Saturday 15th October 2022, 3.00pm
 Macron Cup First Round
The Arcoframe Stadium, Ruskin Sports Village, Ruskin Drive, St Helens, Merseyside, WA10 6RP
 £4 / £2 / Children go free
 St Helens Central (1.5 miles)
West come into this fixture on a high, after an exhilarating Tuesday night victory against FC Isle of Man which saw some fantastic goals scored at both ends of the pitch. Chris Rowley’s side fought extremely hard for that win, which shot them up to 5th in the league table. With 7 wins from their last 8 games, West will be heading into the three upcoming cup fixtures with a lot of determination to keep their rich vein of form going.
In regard to team news, Max Lewens is a doubt and Curtis Miller will be out for another couple of weeks, they are the most notable absences from the squad as they continue their recoveries. As Chris Rowley mentioned on his Tuesday post match interview, Lee Gavin is in contention for a return to the team.
The home side Pilkington have started their season perfectly as they have won every single game that they have played in. Their bright start sees them sitting at the top of the First Division North and they have got there in blistering fashion. With this in mind, this match will be far from easy for West.
With both teams coming into this one in strong form, you can expect a high quality match with potentially, lots of goals.
With West being back on the road, your support is more important than ever so we hope to see you there in what should be a fantastic game. Come on West!!
