West make a first trip to Cheshire of the season protecting an unbeaten record, after the opening-day draw at Ashton Athletic was followed up by three points against Prestwich Heys and cup success at Longridge Town.

Congleton, embarking on their 22nd consecutive season at this level, slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Longridge on the opening weekend. But they have responded emphatically, recording 4-0 wins against Ashton Athletic in the league and at Abbey Hey in the FA Cup.

The Bears have recorded top-10 finishes in ten of the 14 seasons since the NWCFL top flight was rebranded as the Premier Division – last time out they finished 9th, as well as maintaining an interest in the FA Vase until the 4th Round.
