West Women are delighted to announce Safron Newhouse as their second signing ahead of the 2021/22 season. A pacy left winger who is equally capable of playing as a forward, Safron arrives from Women’s National League North side Bolton Ladies, where she has spent most of her senior career so far – accumulating an impressive goal record over the past few seasons.
Speaking at the time of her signing, Safron said:
“I am super excited to be signing for West, and to build a future with the club. The girls have been very welcoming and the set up here is top quality. The West style of play really suits me and the professionalism of the club is what attracted me to join.
I already feel settled in with the team and I am enjoying playing football again. My aims for the new season are to help push the team to achieve their true potential and reach that next level performance.”
West manager Nathan Soulby added:
“Saff came through the door on our first session after lockdown, and you wouldn’t have guessed she hadn’t played in 5 months! Her work rate and energy off the ball is equally impressive to what she is capable of on the ball, which speaks volumes as given half a chance at goal she will take it without question.
She is instantly a great fit with the existing players, and we are all delighted she has decided we are the best place for her development going forward.”
