West’s home game against Darwen was abandoned in the 66th minute and will need to be played again at a later date.

The game had been evenly matched and was still 0-0 as we approached the 3/4 stage. West had come closest to scoring shortly before half-time, but chances were at a premium for both sides.

The flashpoint came on 65 minutes. A Darwen player was initially sin-binned and following words with the referee was shown a further yellow card and told not to return. A free-kick was awarded to West which resulted in a heated discussion between the Darwen bench and the referee. A red card was shown by the referee who then took the decision to abandon the game.
