A comfortable win for West and passage through to the semi-final of the Lancashire FA Women’s challenge cup.
West were on top from the off, winning a couple of early corners. The opening goal came on 11 minutes. An excellent corner delivered by Vicky Kerr, and Rach Mason heading in unmarked.
We doubled our lead on 21 minutes. The ball was played into Taylor Gunn on the edge of the area, she fed Biff who finished brilliantly into the bottom corner.
West controlled the remainder of the half without creating any clear chances until the 44th minute when Vicky Kerr saw a decent shot well saved by the Wigan keeper.
Half-time: 2-0
West started the second-half even better than the first. A lovely passing move and a second of the game for Biff, just over a minute after the restart.
Biff was temporarily denied her hat-trick on 53 minutes with another decent save, but West soon found the net on 57 minutes. A through ball finds Taylor Gunn in the box – her first effort is blocked, but she finishes well with the second.
Taylor should have had another on 73 minutes but Taylor dragged her shot wide following an excellent ball over the top by Amy Vyas.
As we entered added time, Biff won a free-kick on the left of the area. She took it herself and found the back of the net to complete her hat-trick and a 5-0 win for West.
