Match Report | West Women 2-2 Tranmere Rovers Ladies

A good result for West in a game which took a while to come to life.

West spent the first quarter struggling to find any rhythm to their attacking game, passes regularly going astray. Tranmere had been slightly the better team and found the required quality to take the lead in the 26th minute.

West started to click as the half wore on and were starting to get on top when Shauna Edmondson earned a free kick just outside the Tranmere area with a couple of minutes remaining. Up stepped Vicky Kerr to strike a beautiful effort to bring West level at the break.

We continued in a positive way after the break and scored the goal of the game in the 57th minute. A brilliant run and pass by Annabell Veryard to put Taylor Gunn through, and she scored with her second attempt.

It was a competitive affair in the final half hour and from a West perspective was particularly notable for Ella Bracket’s performance and effort on the right wing.  Unfortunately it was Tranmere who found the next, and final goal, in the 81st minute to ensure the points were shared.
