West maintain their winning run in the league, moving onto 9 points in the process.

After a quiet start, the home side found themselves down to 10 players after just 12 minutes, the ref showing a red card following a comment made towards him.

it took just a couple of minutes for West to take advantage. Ellie Caddick’s corner wasn’t cleared, Shortz had a shot blocked, the loose ball finding its way back to Ellie who drove the ball in off the underside of the bar. 1-0 to West.

5 minutes later and West doubled their lead. Another corner not cleared properly, this one breaking to Hannah Mitchell who struck it sweetly with her left foot inside the far post. 2-0 to West.

Jami had a shot saved on 22 minutes and it took a further 10 minutes for the home side to register their first shot, forcing Claire into a good save. They had more possession in West’s half but no further efforts.

Half-time: 0-2

West made an early change on 51 minutes. Ellie coming off, replaced by Bianca Blöchl making her West debut.

On 58 minutes H rattled the crossbar and the home defence eventually cleared. It was to be the only clear cut chance for the majority of the half.

67 minutes saw Sophie B and Sophie S replace Isha and Jami.

On 79 minutes a great cross by Sophie S was put just wide by Taylor. The home side then had another spell of possession in West’s half, forcing Claire into a couple of decent saves  on 85 minutes.

The final chance fell to West, Sophie B forcing an excellent save from their keeper.

A second half of few chances but a very solid win, and a clean sheet for West.
