A comfortable win against lower league opposition in the Lancashire Challenge Cup 3rd round.
Taylor Gunn opened the scoring after just 3 minutes, latching onto a Sophie Bracegirdle through ball after Langho struggled to clear a West corner.
West twice went close again in the following 10 minutes. Leah Bowett-Robinson rattled the crossbar and Biff was unlucky not to score from near the halfway line, her effort drifting just wide.
Taylor added her second of the game on 14 minutes, battling well to win the ball in the area and firing past the keeper.
West dominated possession and created numerous half chances but had to settle for the 2-0 lead at the break.
We made 3 changes early in the second half. Sumner, Kerr and Mundell replacing Caddick, O’Neill and Bowett-Robinson.
West’s dominance continued and a 3rd goal came on 61 minutes, Biff with the finish.
Numerous chances came and went, Gunn and Mundell both firing over. On 82 minutes Taylor again showed great determination to win the ball in the area. She was denied her hat-trick but the ball rolled to Jami Hodges who finished with her right foot, wrapping up the 4-0 win for West.
Team: Jefferson (GK), Mason, Blöchl, O’Neill (Sumner 50’), Dolan, Livesey, Bowett-Robinson (Kerr 50’), Hodges, Caddick (Mundell 50’), Bracegirdle, Gunn
