West’s promotion bid may be over for another year, but they can have a decisive say in this season’s race when they travel to Widnes for their final away game of the campaign.

The visitors have had a week’s rest since Saturday’s win over 1874 Northwich, and completing a double over Widnes would consolidate their top half position. Steve Settle’s can finish anywhere between 7th and 17th.

Runcorn Linnets are one win away from the title, but Widnes are in a sprint with Runcorn Town for the second promotion spot – both sides are on 84 points with four games remaining. Widnes secured a huge three points with a 1-0 win at 1874 on Thursday, in no small part thanks to goalkeeper Richie Mottram saving a Scott McGowan penalty with ten minutes remaining.

By car
The quickest route from Chorlton to Widnes is via the M56 and takes around 35 to 50 minutes. Please check traffic news before you set off.

By rail
Widnes station is around one mile from the ground. Trains run direct from Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Oxford Road and Deansgate. See the National Rail website for train times.
