West v Padiham
Brookburn Road, Chorlton, M21 8FE
£5 adults, £3 concessions, free for under-12s accompanied by an adult
A busy week begins as West welcome Padiham to Brookburn Road for the first of three matches in five days.
Tuesday night’s game, rescheduled from New Year’s Eve, is a quick opportunity for West to avenge their only defeat since February. That was a 6-1 hammering in east Lancashire on 17th March, but Friday night’s win at Abbey Hey was their third consecutive maximum since that aberration. West currently sit three points off the 10th-placed Storks, though the visitors have played two fewer matches.
Padiham have been indifferent since beating West last month – they have only won once in five games, seeing off AFC Liverpool by the odd goal in nine on 31st March. Last Wednesday they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Irlam, but the Storks still remain on course for a second consecutive top-ten finish.
