West welcome Congleton Town to Brookburn Road on Saturday afternoon as they aim to propel themselves further towards mid-table.
Steve Settle’s side remain 16th, nine points above the relegation zone, despite floodlight failure scuppering Tuesday night’s fixture at home to AFC Liverpool. Congleton’s midweek match did go ahead, the Bears losing 2-0 at home to table-topping Runcorn Linnets. That defeat ended a two-game winning run which included victories against AFC Liverpool and Abbey Hey.
West can take confidence from winning the reverse fixture comfortably in August – Tom Bailey’s brace and Carlos Mendes Gomes’ strike securing a 3-0 victory at Ivy Gardens.
Saturday’s match coincides with the annual Brookburn Road Junior Takeover Day, with members of West’s junior teams helping out around the ground as well as organising a collection for Barakah Food Aid. Click here to find out more.
