West welcome Abbey Hulton United to Brookburn Road as the First Division South promotion race begins to intensify.
It seems like an age since West last played in the league – the 1-0 win at Barnton was over two weeks ago – and our promotion rivals have been more active, with Stone Old Alleynians moving into third with a draw against Cammell Laird on Saturday. But West have at least one game in hand on the rest of the top six and will move into second, at worst, with a win against Abbey.
That will be easier said than done against a visiting side that have shaken off a poor start and have found their form in recent weeks, winning six of their last seven games including progression in both the FA Vase and the First Division Cup.
There is another key clash at the top of the table on Wednesday, as Stone face off against Vauxhall Motors.
