Match preview

West travel to Wilmslow for a game that will be equal parts friendly and celebration

This game will form part of Wilmslow Albions’ 100th anniversary celebrations, with Manchester League Division Two side using their pre-season to welcome sides and help bring in their centenary ahead of the start of the next campaign. Unfortunately, Albion were unable to finish their 99th year in style, having finished bottom of the Manchester League Division One on goal difference, having picked up 15 points across the course of their 28 game campaign. Changes to the backroom staff – including the reserve team manager stepping up to assist coaching with the first XI – and open trials should mean they enter 2019/20 in confidence.

A train to Styal is the easiest way to arrive at Oakwood Farm, although the ground is only a 17 minute journey from Chorlton via car. Those travelling are advised to search for Wilmslow Albion Football Club, or the postcode SK9 4HP if searching for direction.
