West will look to bounce back from midweek disappointment when they travel to Staffordshire to face high-flying Stone Old Alleynians.
Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat at Cheadle Town left West six points off the top four, and away form will need to improve if Chris Rowley’s side are to bridge the gap. But improving a run of just one league win on the road since September will be easier said than done against Stone, who currently sit third in the table and hammered Barnton 6-1 last time out.
Stone also inflicted West’s first league defeat of the season, winning 2-0 at Brookburn Road in September.
Chris Rowley will be without Sam Heathcote, who was dismissed in the closing stages of the home win over Cammell Laird last weekend.
Saturday 21st September 2019, West 0-2 Stone Old Alleynians: West suffered a first league defeat of the season on a frustrating afternoon against Stone Old Alleynians.
Brookburn Road’s first Saturday match of the season proved to be something of an anti-climax as the resolute visitors claimed all three points thanks to Samuel Wilson’s second-half double.
The West team that day: A. Jones, Cook, Cooper, Tinker (Boland 58), Forbes, Eckersley, Grimshaw, Gavin (Steer 84), Cottee, Holt, Moloney.
