Squires Gate v West
The Brian Addison Stadium, School Road, Blackpool, FY4 5DS
£6 adults, £3 concessions
West head to the seaside on Saturday as they chase a much-needed three points against Squires Gate.
After previously going 33 matches without a draw, Wednesday’s 3-3 draw at Darwen was West’s second in succession. That result nudged them up one place in the table, to 16th, but with only five points separating them from the relegation zone, a win in Blackpool is of the upmost importance.
West won the reverse fixture 4-2 in September, a match which was also notable for a record number of canine supporters on Non-League Dog Day. That result left Gate rooted in the drop zone after a terrible start, but the appointment of returning manager Andy Clarkson in October has transformed their fortunes. Gate have since registered a respectable eight wins in 18 matches, including an impressive double over City of Liverpool alongside wins against Widnes and Ashton Athletic.
