Silsden v West
Keighley Road, Silsden, BD20 0EH
£6 adults, £3 concessions
West return to league action as they travel to Yorkshire to face newly-promoted Silsden.
Following FA Cup defeat to Squires Gate last month, West’s second road to Wembley was closed off at Lower Breck on Saturday. But Steve Settle’s side make the long trip north-east looking to recapture the momentum from four points in three days over the August bank holiday, including a first win of the season against Whitchurch Alport.
Silsden won promotion from the NWCFL First Division at the second time of asking last campaign, racking up 103 points on the way to collecting the league title. The Cobbydalers have made a seamless transition to the higher level and currently sit second after an unbeaten start to the league season – their bank holiday 2-0 win at Charnock Richard was their fourth victory in a row after opening the season with a pair of draws. The only disappointment so far came in the FA Cup as they were ushered out by City of Liverpool, but they remain in contention for the FA Vase after beating Harrogate Railway Athletic by the odd goal in seven last weekend.
