West head to Runcorn Town looking to kick-start their season but face a stiff challenge against a home side who have flown off the starting blocks.
Steve Settle’s side will chase a first win of the season at Pavilions after a pair of defeats sandwiched by a point at Hanley Town. West were dumped out of the FA Cup by Squires Gate last weekend, but will hope to retain the momentum from a last 20 minutes where they almost snatched a replay from 3-0 down with ten men.
Chris Herbert’s Town were edged out of last season’s promotion race by Widnes, but have shrugged off the summer departure of hitman Craig Cairns to make an impressive start to this campaign. They have a 100% record in the league following wins over Padiham and Abbey Hey, and are still on the road to Wembley after seeing off Hemsworth Miners Welfare at the second attempt.
