After a pitch inspection this morning, today’s game against Maine Road has been postponed. As one of the most important fixtures of our season, this decision was not taken lightly – but with standing water in several areas of the pitch following torrential rain overnight, and with the forecast not predicting a let up in rain before kick off, it was deemed that there was no way that the game would be able to go ahead. You can see a selection of photos taken of the ground this morning below.
Obviously, all at the club are disappointed that the South Manchester Derby will not be going ahead, and we’d like to apologise for any disturbance this may have made to your Easter Monday plans. News of the re-arranged fixture will be announced shortly.
Next up at Brookburn Road is the visit of Padiham, on Tuesday 10th April. Before that, we travel to Abbey Hey this Friday for a game under the lights. We hope to see you there.
