With all of the NWCFL First Division South leading pack in FA Vase action this weekend, West will retain the top spot they consolidated with last week’s 2-1 win at Abbey Hey. Chris Rowley’s side saw off Northern Counties East Division One side Nostell Miners Welfare to reach this stage of the Vase, and a win this weekend will equal West’s best run in the competition.
Parkgate, also of the Northern Counties East Division One, have had an inconsistent start to their league season, picking up 11 points from ten games and sitting in 14th place. However, they comprehensively moved into this stage of the Vase with a 4-1 win at another Yorkshire side, Humber United, in the First Qualifying Round. The Steelmen are the side with more Vase experience, having reached the Third Round in both 2012-13 and 2013-14.
The winner will go into the hat for Monday’s First Round draw.
