RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE

West return to The Step Places Stadium for another Tuesday night under the lights, this time against early strugglers Barnton.
Tuesday 17th August, 7:45pm
The Step Places Stadium, Brookburn Road, M21 8FE
Hardy Farm car park not open
NWCFL First Division South
Pay on the gate (cash and card) – £5 adults / £3 concessions / free for under-12s
Tuesday night’s game sees West take on a side with no points up to that stage for the second match in succession. West need no reminding about the competitiveness of the First Division South, but Cheadle Heath Nomads’ display in getting off the mark on Saturday will have sharpened minds ahead of the Villagers’ visit.
Barnton can also consider themselves unfortunate to be bottom of the early table, having already run two of the early pacesetters close this season. Wythenshawe Amateurs had to score twice in the last ten minutes to win at Townfield on the opening day, and Ellesmere Rangers needed a 87th-minute winner to edge out the Villagers last weekend.
Monday 26th August 2019, Barnton 0-1 West: West rounded off a terrific Bank Holiday weekend with victory over Barnton at a stiflingly-hot Townfield.
James Cottee’s instinctive finish midway through the first half proved enough for a sixth win of the season in all competitions, and ensured West followed up Saturday’s FA Cup draw at Stalybridge Celtic in the best possible fashion.
West line-up: A. Jones, Cook, Cooper, Tinker, Forbes (Horner 34), Middleton, Grimshaw, C. Jones, Cottee (Steer 84), Boland, B. Woods (Moloney 59). Not used: McLaughlin, Dale.
Goal: Cottee 22.
