It’s not just supermarkets, farms and petrol stations that are struggling with shortages. Hawks were hit by post-Brexit, pandemic realities and could only field eight players.
Yet, against nine Eagles, they dominated the 1st half but only scored once. However, Hawks eventually found their shooting boots in the 2nd half, even playing spells with only seven. Luca B was in scintillating form down the right. Forced off the pitch twice having been hacked down he was stung in the ear by a bee having received the Mars Bar Player of the Match award, Swings and roundabouts.
PoM: Luca B
Great win for the u18s on Sunday beating Lymm Rovers 8-2 down at a sun soaked Hardy Farm. Despite conceding virtually from the kick off to a freak goal that looped over the head of the keeper we soon took control and were 5-1 by half time. Took our foot off the gas second half but still managed to score 3 more, miss a pen and hit the woodwork a couple of times. Hatricks for 2 forwards and a trio of assists for the other. We head into last ‘division-setting’ game hoping not to over- perform and get given too high a division for our final season!
