West Didsbury and Chorlton fc are a progressive community focussed football club playing in the NWCFL Premier league. It also has a thriving women’s team , veterans and a junior section with 18 teams in total. Based in Chorlton, it has reputation of being one of the most welcoming non-league teams in the country and has a support of around 800.
Unlike many other clubs ‘West ‘ is a community run club with no major benefactor. We encourage community involvement and are committed to being environmentally friendly. We provide child care services though a local partner and support local community initiatives . The club is driven by a dedicated group of volunteers.
To help develop the work in hand we are advertising for the following voluntary post:
Volunteer coordinator
This posts is unpaid and there is flexibility with hours committed. The club will provide training , facilities and some expenses. The role offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, progressive club that is one of the best supported in the country for its status. The posts are open to all who believe they have the necessary expertise and drive with the usual provisos re child protection. Line management and support will be provided by a club director and a subcommittee. Whenever possible a budget will be provided to facilitate the work.
The role will involve:
1. Recruiting , training, supporting and coordinating volunteers engaged in match day activities such as stewarding , bar duties and other match day roles .
2. Identifying and harnessing potential volunteers with relevant skills or interests that could contribute to the core principles of the club such as engaging youth , instigating environmental projects, providing community activities and offering options for vulnerable groups such as refugees .
3 In conjunction with director’s/sub committees provide training and if relevant accreditation for volunteers
4 In conjunction with directors ensure that quality standards and support for volunteers is maintained and in keeping with our volunteers policy.
