RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE
by Matthew Durrant · 18/10/2017
Although West’s opening round tie in the Manchester FA Cup is yet to take place, the draw was today (Wednesday 18 October) made for the quarter final stage. If West are to progress from Monday’s fixture against Maine Road, their reward will be a trip to Hyde United, in a game that will be played sometime after the 6th of November.
One of the more storied non-league clubs, Hyde have faced a tumultuous few years on the pitch. Having played in the National Conference as recently as 2013/14, the team have had successive relegations meaning they now play in the Northern League Division One North – one level above West. However, off the field there have been positive signs, with Hyde now owned by their own supporters’ club. They currently sit 7th, with games in hand on many of those above them.
West travel to Maine Road on Monday 23rd October for their tie, in what is sure to be a fiercely contested South Manchester Derby. We look forward to your vociferous support once more.
The draw in full:
Hyde United vs Maine Road OR West Didbsbury & Chorlton
Chadderton FC OR Abbey Hey vs Glossop North End OR Trafford FC
Salford City vs FC United of Manchester
Mossley FC vs Droylsden
