Glossop North End 2-1 West – West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC

Glossop North End 2-1 West

Tuesday 18th October 2022, Manchester Premier Cup first round

Glossop North End 2 (Nock 15, White 76)
West 1 (Swift 23)
Att: 277

West exited the Manchester Premier Cup at the hands of Glossop North End.

Joel Swift had cancelled out Luke Nock’s opener, but Louie White’s goal with 14 minutes remaining meant West bowed out of a cup competition for the second time in four days.

Nock put the finishing touch on a sweeping Glossop move after a quarter of an hour to open the scoring, before Swift dispossessed home keeper Jordan Hadlow and squeezed home a shot from a tight angle to restore parity.

The home side were dominant after the break and were kept out by a West rearguard action, before White capitalised on some hesistant defending to put Glossop back in front.

Ezeikel Eme and Liam Delaney had half-chances as West looked to force a shoot-out, but the home side progressed to the competition’s quarter-final stage.

West: A. Jones, Graham, Westall, Taylor (Miller), Hancock (Cook), Foulds, Eme, Dickinson (Delaney), Swift, C. Jones, Lewens. Not used: Gavin, Davis.

Eckersley’s Plumbers & Locksmiths Player of the Match: Ezeikel Eme.
