At this Saturday’s game, in addition to all of our usual refreshments, we’ll be welcoming a cake sale by Laura Turley. A long-time friend and supporter of the club, Laura will be running the London Marathon in April, and is running a bakesale in order to help raise funds for her chosen charity Whizz-Kidz. The organisation helps transform the lives of disabled children across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults – are we’re proud to be able to assist in some small way towards helping Laura reach her goal of £2,000.
If you would like to make a contribution independently of the cake sale, you can make donate through Virgin Giving here. Of her London Marathon run, Laura says:
In April 2019 I’ll be participating in the London Marathon. I’m really grateful to have been given this opportunity to participate in such a legendary event. It’s been made even more special, as I’ll be raising money for Whizz-Kidz. They provide specialist mobility equipment for young disabled people, and run various skills courses, work placements and residential camps. Their heart is to help people become more independent, develop and reach their full potential. The work they do is truly extraordinary and vital for many families. Any donations large or small would be much appreciated.
We look forward to tasting the cakes, and wish Laura all the best in reach her target – as well as finishing the marathon itself!
