This Saturday, we open our season with an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round trip to Athersley Recreation. Following numerous requests from supporters, the club have arranged for a coach to the game – which will also ferry players and committee members. As previously announced, this will cost £10 return, payable on the day – and we are now in a position to confirm details of the day.

The coach will have 25 seats available for supporters, and it is highly recommended that anyone who plans on travelling with us confirms their seat in advance to avoid disappointment. Although spare places may be available on the day, the only way we can guarantee your seat is through reservation. These are likely to go in advance of Saturday’s game, so we will be updating both this post and social media if and when we have filled the coach – as well as letting it be known if there is any space for walk-ups on the day.

The coach will be leaving at 11am from the Bowling Green pub (M21 9ES, details on location etc here https://www.bowlinggreenchorlton.co.uk/). Travel will take roughly 1 hour 30 minutes, and fans will have the choice of being dropped off in Barnsley itself, or carrying on to the ground with the players. Those who choose to get off in Barnsley would then need to make their way to the ground (around 25 minutes by public transport from the centre – see here for details: https://goo.gl/maps/wvKeFRjW3z42) for the 3pm kick off. The coach will be leaving from the ground after the game at no later than 6pm, and will drop off West fans back at the Bowling Green for around 7.30pm.
