Match Report | West Women 1-0 Mossley Hill Ladies

An important 3 points for West that secures our North West Women’s Premier League status for another season.

We were the dominant team in terms of possession for much of the first half, eventually turning that into a goal in the 23rd minute. Isha with a fine finish from an excellent Leah Dolan cross.

That lead should have been doubled five minutes later as Taylor had the ball in the net but saw her effort (wrongly) ruled out for offside.

Mossley Hill began to get into the game as we approached half-time, and Katy Wilman had to make a brilliant tackle to deny a likely goal on 44 minutes.

The visitors continued their improvement in the second half and West were required to do much more defensively. In truth though, neither team could greatly trouble the keepers. The only save Claire had to make was from a shot that had come from an offside position. Our only real effort came at the end of a very good move on 71 minutes, but Leah B-R couldn’t keep her shot on target.

West dug in and saw out the 6 minutes of added time to claim a very welcome win.
