West 0-1 Vauxhall Motors

Saturday 9th April 2022, Macron Cup 1st Round

West 0 (Ford sent off 78)
Vauxhall Motors 1 (Holmes pen 84)

West exited the Macron Cup after defeat to Vauxhall Motors.

A game of almost no incident was brought to life, unnecessarily from West’s point of view, when Oliver Ford lashed out at a Motors player to leave his side down to ten for the final 12 minutes.

It only took the visitors six minutes to press home their advantage, as Ben Holmes converted a spot-kick.

Substitute Sam Amankwaa had a late chance to force a shoot-out, but Vauxhall moved on to a 2nd Round clash with Cammell Laird.

West: A. Jones, Cook, Matthews (Amankwaa 63), Delaney, Vayro, Hancock, Ford, Gavin, Elliott, C. Jones, Eme (Lewis 83). Not used: Heathcote, Ryan.

Eckersley’s Plumbers & Locksmiths Player of the Match: Liam Delaney.
