This afternoon’s match is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
West return to The Step Places Stadium looking to continue their promotion push against Cheadle Heath Nomads
Chris Rowley’s side opened up an eight-point gap at the top of the First Division South with last weekend’s 2-1 win at New Mills, a fifth straight win in all competitions, and hold a game in hand over their closest challengers.
Nomads, entering the weekend in 9th place, have been hamstrung by inconsistency in their attempts to claim a playoff spot – typified by their last two results, an extraordinary sequence of a 6-0 win against Cammell Laird last weekend followed up by a 7-0 reverse to Stockport Town on Tuesday night.
Jake Davies’ side, who struck late to claim a point in the sides’ August meeting, feature some familiar faces – Brookburn Road alumni Josh Tinker, Tom Horner and George Blackwell recently signed on at the Proseal Stadium, joining former West striker Danny McLaughlin.
