One-Off Corinthians Shirts for Wythenshawe Match

On Saturday we will be wearing a special one-off home kit to show our support for the Corinthians - We Were The Champions documentary. The documentary which has begun filming at Brookburn Road still requires donations so that it can be completed.

The match-worn shirts were produced by our friends at @skkits1 and will be auctioned during the match with the proceeds being donated towards the making of the documentary. Supporters will also have the opportunity to buy replicas of the shirts online next week.

Corinthians Ladies were rebels against the system - formed as a club in 1949, decades into the FA Ban on Women’s football - they had no official ground, no kit and a duck pond to wash in on Fog Lane Park in Didsbury. Yet, they were one of the most successful UK women’s teams ever – defying the system to unofficially represent England against Germany as far back as 1957. Winning 50 trophies over 20 years. We Were the Champions is the first documentary to tell the full unvarnished story of these rebellious Mancunian women who became global pioneers for the women’s game.
