West Women host Altrincham as the groundwork continues to be laid ahead of the 2023/24 North West Women's Regional Football League Premier Division, the fifth tier of the women's pyramid.
Looking to build on an 8th-placed finish last time out, West Women summer programme has so far seen an exciting 3-3 draw with Runcorn Linnets and an encouraging 3-1 defeat to Stockport County.

West Men then welcome close neighbours Maine Road to The Step Places Stadium as preparations for the 2023/24 NWCFL season come to a close with pre-season friendly #8.
The two sides last met in April 2022 in the First Division Cup 2nd Round, West prevailing on penalties following a 1-1 draw, but it was the meeting in the NWCFL Division One South the previous month which is most memorable.
Two early goals, one apiece from Ben Elliott and Sam Heathcote, settled nerves before a Heathcote penalty clinched a 3-1 win in front of sun-drenched record crowd at Brantingham Road and took West to within 3 points of the title, sealed five days later at Barnton.
Long serving members of the NWCFL since joining in 1987, Road are about to start their sixth consecutive term in the 10th tier, narrowly missing out on a playoff place in 2021/22 as West took the title and otherwise achieving comfortable mid-table finishes.
The head-to-head record is remarkably even; 15 competitive meetings split into 6 wins each and 3 draws.
Follow West on Twitter for match updates.
Directions
We encourage supporters to use public transport, cycle or walk if possible.
By car:
There is no parking available at the ground for supporters, except for pre-booked disability access. Please instead use Hardy Farm, M21 8DP.
Please also note that there is no parking available on Brookburn Road and the surrounding Chorltonville area as they are privately maintained, exclusively for the use of residents.
There is additional public car parking on Chorlton Ees opposite The Bowling Green pub, who are also allowing supporters to use the pub car park, but there is little other on-street parking.
By public transport:
The Step Places Stadium is one mile from Chorlton Metrolink station, on the East Didsbury and Manchester Airport lines. Follow Google Maps directions to find your way to the ground.
If you are travelling from outside the Greater Manchester area, the Metrolink network can be accessed from any of Manchester’s central train stations. Visit the Transport for Greater Manchester website for tram times and more information.
By cycle:
The Step Places Stadium is a perfect location for those who cycle, being located next to the River Mersey, Sale Ees and only a few minutes away from the Fallowfield Cycle Loop. We have secure bicycle racks inside the ground to lock up your bike throughout the game. Please ask a volunteer if you need assistance.
