Cheadle Heath Nomads v West Didsbury & Chorlton
Preview
Tuesday evening sees West's sixth game of the summer, a short trip to Cheadle Heath Nomads of the NWCFL Division 1 South.
The two teams have met competitively on four occasions, West enjoying an unbeaten record over those games, though only one ending in victory; a memorable 5-0 away win in January 2020. Both meetings during West's 2021/22 promotion season ended in score draws, the most recent seeing a last-gap equaliser from Tom Horner cancel out Ben Elliott's opener to earn a 1-1 tie in February 2022.
Nomads are about to enter their sixth season in the non-league system, securing top-half finishes in the NWCFL Division 1 South in each of their previous five.
Achieving a creditable 8th placed finish in 2022/23, Nomads didn't get a win on the board until November 5th but, after new manager Rory Fallon was installed later that month, just three further defeats were suffered as they embarked on a rise up the table. The playoffs were out of reach but that'll be the aim for 2023/24.
Fallon has since departed for Wythenshawe Town, being replaced by Altrincham FC Academy Manager Paul Fay who will fulfil both roles.
Nomads' traditional home colours are maroon and sky blue.
