Preview
After a disappointing defeat to bottom-side Prestwich Heys on Tuesday night, West travel to Charnock Richard for another key match in the race for the playoffs.
Charnock have had a season of ups and downs but they are enjoying a good spell currently and find themselves in 9th position. They sit eight points outside the playoff places having played one game more than West, who remain in 5th despite Tuesday's loss. The Greens have won their last three home games and the most recent of these came against 4th placed Chadderton. Their most recent match was a 4-0 away win at Barnoldswick Town on Tuesday night.
The Greens' hopes are dented by the absence of top scorer Nathan Nickeas, who has 26 goals this season and is the third highest scorer in the division. This tally includes includes a staggering 15 goals in his last 12 appearances, although his red card at FC St Helens last Saturday now means he's suspended for West's visit.
By contrast, West will welcome back Ollie Martin after his three-match suspension has been served following his dismissal at North Shields in the FA Vase. Incidentally, Charnock Richards were also eliminated from this season's Vase away at North Shields.
West fans travelling to Charnock RIchard on Saturday should note that there is a spacious clubhouse over the road from the ground. There is also good quality food sold in the ground itself with a range of pies on offer alongside burgers and chips.

They joined the West Lancashire League in 1993, and progressed through three divisions in little over a decade, joining the North West Counties Football League in 2016/17. The Greens won promotion to the Premier Division at the first attempt and have remained at step 5 ever since.
The club started playing at Mossie Close in 1968, since moving to a site on the other side of the same road, where they current play. The old site is where the club's current clubhouse still sits.
