Preview
After an incredible run of form that has taken West from the depths of the division to the cusp of the playoffs, Brookburn Road will now host an early-season six-pointer on Tuesday night as 3rd placed Lower Breck travel to M21.
There's little more that can be said about the run that West have put together since a dreary defeat to Irlam last month left the team languishing in 20th. Six weeks have since passed and West approach this game having not lost thereafter, winning three in a row, seven out of eight, and dropping only two points from 24.
This Tuesday is likely to be the trickiest test so far as Lower Breck arrive in Manchester in formidable form themselves. They finished last season strongly and have taken 35 points from their first 17 games this term. Breck are also the only side in the division with a better defensive record than West and have won seven of their last ten league matches. Their main threat comes from forward Jesse Dowling, who has scored six goals during that run. However, they are yet to beat a team in the top 6 and were beaten at home by Stockport Town last week.
With only four league matches taking place across the division this midweek, Tuesday night represents another excellent opportunity for West to cement themselves at the upper end of the table - a win means a place in the playoff zone for at least 24 hours - if they can overcome a side already well placed to be in the promotion race come the end of the season.
Lower Breck are a relatively young club having been formed in 2010, but they have already established strong links within their local community. Now in their sixth NWCFL season, they've improved upon their final league position every season so far and look set to do the same this year.
West welcomed a crowd of 1,251 to Brookburn Road on Saturday, the highest crowd at any Step 5 game in the country. We hope that a good number of those will return for this game and we of course look forward to welcoming supporters from Lower Breck.

Past Meetings
Last season's meeting between the two sides was one of the highlights of West's season, as a 95th minute Ben Hampson goal gave West a 3-2 win on a cold Tuesday evening in late September. It was a match that ebbed and flowed with Ben Elliott and Billy Matthews scoring the goals that brought us level and put us in front respectively.
That was West's first and only ever win against Lower Breck and, despite going a goal up in the reverse fixture just before Christmas - with West fans supporting the food bank appeal - West were well-beaten. In the end only a heroic goalkeeping performance from Elliot Wynne kept the score respectable, finishing 3-1.

Directions
We encourage supporters to use public transport, cycle or walk if possible.
By car:
There is no parking available at the ground for supporters, except for pre-booked disability access.
Please instead use Hardy Farm, M21 8DP.
Disability spaces must be accessed no later than one hour before kickoff and all vehicles will be unable to exit until 15 minutes after the final whistle to ensure the safety of all supporters leaving the stadium.
There is additional public car parking on Chorlton Ees opposite The Bowling Green pub, who are also allowing supporters to use the pub car park, but there is little other on-street parking.
Please also note that there is no parking available on Brookburn Road itself, nor the surrounding Chorltonville area, as they are privately maintained, exclusively for the use of residents.
By public transport:
The Step Places Stadium is one mile from Chorlton Metrolink station, on the East Didsbury and Manchester Airport lines. Follow Google Maps directions to find your way to the ground.
If you are travelling from outside the Greater Manchester area, the Metrolink network can be accessed from any of Manchester’s central train stations. Visit the Transport for Greater Manchester website for tram times and more information.
By cycle:
The Step Places Stadium is a perfect location for those who cycle, being located next to the River Mersey, Sale Ees and only a few minutes away from the Fallowfield Cycle Loop. We have secure bicycle racks inside the ground to lock up your bike throughout the game. Please ask a volunteer if you need assistance.
