West's marathon of cup games continues with the Lancashire Challenge Trophy visit of Prestwich Heys.

Up until last week, this Tuesday night was earmarked for a league visit to leaders Vauxhall Motors but a late alteration to the fixture list means that West will instead be playing a fifth cup game in five games.

Brad Cooke's side were given a bye to this stage of the competition, but Prestwich had to see off Padiham on penalties in the first round after a goalless draw at the Arbories.

Heys currently sit 10th in the NWCFL First Division North after an inconsistent start to the season, but have recently added former Maine Road and Barnoldswick Town boss Matt Barnes as joint-manager alongside the long-serving Jon Lyons. The new duo made a winning start at the weekend when they pulled off something of an upset, beating Winsford United by a solitary goal in the Macron Cup.

Last time we met

West and Heys are former Manchester League foes, with West winning the last meeting 3-0 at Brookburn Road in September 2011, but this will be the first competitive meeting since the sides' promotions to the NWCFL.
