MATCH PREVIEW | Runcorn Town v West

Saturday 20th January 2018 (3pm), NWCFL Premier Division
Runcorn Town v West
Pavilions, WA7 4ET
£6 adults, £3 concessions, free for accompanied under-16s

Weather permitting, West will travel to Runcorn for the second time this season on Saturday. Steve Settle's team will be looking to maintain the momentum from last weekend's dramatic win against Winsford United, while Town aim to chase down Runcorn Linnets at the Premier Division summit having surrendered top spot over Christmas.

If there is such a thing as a good time to visit Pavilions, it may be now - Town's 4-0 hammering at Padiham last weekend was their fourth defeat in seven games, a run of form that also included a calamitous Boxing Day derby against Linnets and one that threatens to unravel their good work at the start of the season.

The mood on Weston Point may be more lower than when Town won 4-2 at Brookburn Road in September, part of a winning start that lasted well into October, but they remain one of the leading candidates for promotion and West will be wary of a venue where they shipped six on their last visit.

This weekend also sees two of the division's deadliest marksmen do battle - Town's Craig Cairns and West's Tom Bailey have 25 goals each this season in all competitions.
